What is happiness?
As Slavoj Žižek, the famous Slovene philosopher in the debate with Jordan B. Peterson stated:
“a necessary by-product of you working toward a cause. Focus on it and you are lost”.
However, many goes as far as to pursuit it, even demand it for themselves! Popular music has in turn become a means to a perverted sense of a quick and easy fix on happiness. This happy-go-lucky mentality, however, forbids one to let off steam and instead keeps it sealed and/or repressed.
At A Cure for Happiness, we want to offer a healthy alternative by booking artists that matter from the entire obscure and heavy spectrum of rock and experimental music and organise gigs at local as well as neighbouring venues.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
This gloomy young man who's name is Kristijan loves noisy and obscure music. He is also a musician and a connoisseur of ambiguous movies. His goal is to inform about and let people hear music which is most of the time uncharted.
Neža is responsible for the lovely logo of the pierced hand and barbed crow you see here and our social media channels. She's a member of the Art Dept. with a hand for drawing. Her heart flutters when listening to slower tempos on low-tuned guitars producing thick and heavy tunes.
Matjaž has been involved in co-creating the music program for Radio MARŠ since 2015. He loves exploring the latest music releases and frequently updates his collection of vinyl, which ranges from unconventional rock to various kinds of extreme music.
Urban is a youngster most of Slovenia's metal scene knows as the ex-drummer of a death metal band, now blasting for a grind band. His DIY approach of skills of analogue photography and printing makes him a part of the Art Dept. He's a fan of speedy and unrelenting music.
